Welcoming the stranger among us

Session

The ancient Judeo-Christian call to welcome the stranger has always been a blessing to both the needy sojourner and the community offering care. This rich tradition of compassion continues to bless anyone caught up in offering lovingkindness to “the foreigner in your midst”. Join us in this session to learn about contemporary examples of this work from Baptist Care Australia representative, Nicole Hornsby. Nicole will share about current efforts from our Baptist agencies and churches and offer ways to join in this beautiful work.

Storyteller

When Nicole was younger she wanted nothing more than to work in the Ministry – but God had other plans. She forged a career in nursing, hospital administration and health consulting. That eventually led her to Baptcare, where she worked in operations, business development and strategy. In 2020 she was appointed Executive Director at Baptist Care Australia – the advocacy agency for Baptist community service agencies. Nicole’s strongest held value is justice and she now relishes the opportunity to champion social justice in her workplace everyday.
